How do you portray such violence in a way that is still pleasing to read? Most of the time when I read about violent acts I wanna skip them to get to the plot but in the case of your books I've taken my time reading the gorry parts Is it a lot of research or some personal experiences amplified or some other thing ?

G.X. Todd I watch and read a lot of true crime, so when I write violence or gore, my aim usually isn't to sensationalise it or approach it comically or with exagerrated effects. I always want to inject the horror of its reality into the reader. And, yes, there are elements of entertainment involved - even a morbid curioristy (because human nature is to always be curious, even in the most terrible of circumstances) - but I really try to treat those elements with respect, even within its fictional settings.
