Laëtitia asked E.V. Drake:

The aesthetic of your book covers is absolutely gorgeous! Are they designed by you? If so, could you please tell us how you were inspired? and how long did it take you to create them? and maybe what was the decisive element that made you chose the final versions?

E.V. Drake Thanks for the question, R_L.
Yes, I do design my covers, but often I can't create a satisfactory replica of what lives in my head.

Scribes was easy. I had the plan from the very first draft of the first book almost a decade prior to release, and feel it represents Tiris perfectly. It's even described in the story.
Elves took me almost 7 years to decide on a design, but once it came to mind, it was done in a day. The spine of the book had to fold specifically like the spine of the dragon, and I like how it turned out.

A design is never 100% the same as first imagined, but it tells you when it's ready. They're not the most dramatic or brilliantly executed designs, but mean a lot to me and the story.
I'm very pleased to hear they were a hit with readers.
