Yeah, I actually think it's a social advantage in most situations. People underestimate me (even if perhaps subconsciously) and are surprised that I can talk articulately, carry a beverage myself, open a door, etc.
Don't get me wrong, I would certainly not choose to have one leg. And these advantages are only true if you are an amputee AND you are confident about yourself, which I was not for many years.
