How have you overcome people's first reaction to seeing you are different?I have had three heart surgeries and have many scares and before they get to know me and what they are from it can be difficult. Oh and do you like cucumbers?

Just as Larry the Cucumber (from Veggie Tales) probably gets a lot of weird looks when he goes out among humans, I get a lot of second glances and stares.
But I would not say I've OVERCOME them. I'm often able to ignore them or to accept them. But I still don't find them pleasant. I'd much prefer to be able to disappear into a crowd like anyone else. (This would also allow me to pull of casino or bank heists like in movies, something that is very difficult for an amputee to do because you can't really wear a disguise)
