As you write, what do you surround yourself with to inspire you or help you stay focused?

Tami Hoag I am a nesting creature, so I like to be in my office at home with my dogs sprawled around on their cushions. I need music on. I'm mostly surrounded by a mess of research books, notes, and unopened mail. I guess ignoring the mail is part of my motivation to focus!

I have every book I can find that you have written, and saw the growth you made as an author over the years, which is wonderful! Now, I am sure you have been asked this before, but what sparked the changeover from romance writing to mystery/suspense?
