A Goodreads user asked Tami Hoag:

Everyone gets writers block or loses motivation. I love the book I'm writing, but can't seem to make myself sit down to work on it. What keeps you going and writing?

Tami Hoag Well, the need for a paycheck is a big motivator! I need to be kept in the style to which I am accustomed, after all. Then there's that as a working writer, I have signed a contract and have a deadline to meet. Writing is an art, but publishing is a business, and I have to meet my responsibilities. Writing a book can be really hard and not fun, but it's my job so I have to find a way to get through those tough spots.
