Much of your work explores those dark corners or human nature. Do you ever worry that readers, especially younger ones, might confuse exploration with endorsement, and does this concern ever make you want to pull back?

Nenia Campbell I find it interesting that this is a concern most commonly addressed to femme presenting authors of dark fiction. My books are NOT intended for anyone under 18 and I market them as such, just as I make it clear that I don't endorse the content of my books in my trigger warnings. I can't control how people interpret my work, but in this age of dwindling media literacy, I think it's critical for people to thoughtfully consume the media they engage with and to understand that people can entertain ideas they don't endorse as an exploration of the world as it is, was, and could be, in all of its beauty and horrors.
