Thank you for the reply, C.T. I'm wondering since you and I both agree on Dan Simmons, why his other works - while beautifully constructed, left me flat? "The Terror" was good as were the others he penned but nothing like the Hyperion Cantos. IMO, Dan Simmons could have written more SF/Fantasy.

C.T. Phipps I agree. But authors can't really depend on inspiration going in the direction they want.

Have you read any of Anna Mocikat's books? I'm reading her "Behind Blue Eyes" series and consider them quite good. My favorite author for SF is Dan Simmons. The Hyperion Cantos is about the best there is IMHO. Thanks, Greg Hartman @Boonmee82460182
