Rita Webb asked Merrie Haskell:

Will there ever be a sequel to The Princess Curse? It felt as though there was more to the story.

Merrie Haskell Hi there! There certainly is more to Dragos's story, and Reveka and Dragos's future together, though I certainly wrote myself into a corner for sequels. I feel that any sequel to the story would end up being a great deal more grown-up of a story than the previous one. It's hard to figure out how to present a sequel and still be a middle grade book, but I think about it almost every morning in the shower.

So, unfortunately, the answer to this is still a qualified maybe.

Very awesome, intuitive readers have figured out that Reveka has a cameo in The Castle Behind Thorns. There is a whole history that can be unraveled by figuring this out.

The character of Hekate is a player in all three of my books; in Handbook for Dragon Slayers, she is a servant of the Underworld (though she is explicitly the leader of the Wild Hunt) (that book takes place in 1133); by the time of the Princess Curse, she is an Underworld ruler in greater Europe and a contemporary of Dragos. The Princess Curse is set in 1498. (She also shows up in The Castle Behind Thorns.) Castle is set in 1517 (and 25-ish years earlier). Both Curse and Castle take place in the confines of the former Roman Empire in Europe, which, under the rule of Hades and Persephone, had a unified Underworld that fractured in the 13th century, a fracture that lasted through Reveka's time. And by Castle, there is a hint that there is a unified Underworld again. So, the political situation is pretty well in hand for book planning. Just the best way to convey the story is what's left!
