Lisa See Thank you so much for your very kind words about my books. I'm so glad you've enjoyed them. I'm not working on a sequel to Dreams of Joy, although I did plant some things in that novel in case I ever decide to write a third book in the series.

I just read The Island of Sea Women. I was fascinated to read about a place and a culture I had never heard of. Your research was clearly meticulous. This book will stay with me for a long time as there was such impactful and troubling history, and the story of the women...please remind me how you got the idea to write about the island's culture?
