A Goodreads user asked Lori Foster:

Hi Lorie! I know you love to write, but was there ever a time where it seemed as if your dreams wouldnt come true? I mean, was there a time where you knew that you were going to be a writer, but the world kept slowing you down from it? If so, how did you handle it? Thank you!

Lori Foster Hi Rachel,
It took me so long to sell that first book that yes, I often wondered if it would ever happen. But writers write. Whether they sell or not, they write. So I continued and kept submitting my work and finally - after what felt like forever and a very drawn out process - I sold.
I'm a very motivated person, and beyond stubborn when I want something - meaning I'm not a quitter. lol. They more book rejections I got, the more determined I became to make the publishers regret not buying me.
Looking back now, admittedly, those first books weren't great. I believe what happened is that I taught myself to write by writing.
Wishing you much luck in all your goals!
Thanks,

Lori
