Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

E.Michael Helms THE PRIVATE WAR OF CORPORAL HENSON is a fictional sequel to my Vietnam memoir, THE PROUD BASTARDS (published in 1990 and still in print). I joined a combat veterans group for PTSD, and the stories and experiences of my fellow group members inspired me enough to want to tell the story. PRIVATE WAR is due out August 19, 2014 from Stairway Press.
