Charlie - I am loving your books so far! For serious! Why did you choose the early 1900s in London as the setting for your story? Just randomly curious. And Go Cougs! :)

I honestly don't remember. Initially the series took place other-world, in a country I had -based- off Edwardian England. We later changed it to actual England.
I think I just pictured the setting that way, and the early 1900s had the technology level I wanted for the book.

I recently acquired and read all of the Paper/Material Magicians books. These two small things have been driving me crazy: 1. What was Emery's original intended course of study? 2. When does Tagis Praff graduation take place/are apprentices always placed with mentors relatively quickly, or is there some kind of break?
