Christine asked Charlie N. Holmberg:

I LOVE the idea you had for this series, manipulate man made objects into something magical.I love Ceony! I am not used to reading young adult so I felt myself reaching deeper but I gather young adult authors don't get as technical into things or thoughts of character.Being so intrigued with your premise for this series, do you wish you wrote for a different genre to be able to really play it out?

Charlie N. Holmberg While The Paper Magician is a simplistic story, I would never say YA authors don’t get technical. There are hundreds of complex novels written for teenaged eyes—they’re an audience that’s constantly evolving, which can make writing YA a challenge! I wrote the book the way it is because that’s how I envisioned it: sweet, simple, and short. So no regrets here. :)
