Loved book 1 of the Dowser series and want to read the rest but I have a question. Why are the ebooks 3.99 at Amazon and 4.50 at Barnes & Noble? I have a Nook so would be buying at B&N.

Hi Billie!
Glad you liked Dowser 1! The answer to this question is a bit complicated. And it is something I'm currently looking into, just in case the situation has changed. Essentially, I don't completely control my own pricing. Amazon insists on being the lowest listed price, which is fine because I just want to list all my books at the same price - $3.99. Except some retailers then lower that price ... B&N lowered it to $3.79, while Sony and Google Play lowered it a dollar or more. I can't stop them from doing that (there are contracts in place that give them discretion over pricing), and then Amazon price matches even lower. Now this works for me with the permafree, because Amazon will price match, but against me with the paid books. Does this make any sense?
So, in order to achieve some balance in pricing, I stopped selling on Sony and Google Play, and added the $.50 to the other retailers.
I've sent and email out to a few author friends this morning to see where they stand on this issue now. Perhaps this isn't happening anymore. If that is the case, I will happily lower the price back down to $3.99 everywhere.
I hope that answers your question.
