Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Rob Sanders The idea for OUTER SPACE BEDTIME RACE didn't come from just one place. I knew that I wanted to write a bedtime book that my great nephew Jack would love--not pink and frilly, not princess-y, but full of action and maybe even a bit spooky. So I tried one of my favorite ways to generate writing ideas--a mash-up. A mash-up forces together unlikely things to create something new. I ended up mashing together aliens, a race, and a bedtime story. That's how OUTER SPACE BEDTIME RACE came to be--and Jack loves it!
