When researching a main character, how do you work to get readers to really see them? to get to know the person as best as possible? and are you satisfied with the information you find on them at times?

Firstly, my characters in this series are real people, so I read everything published on the subject. I keep reading until I feel like I know them like a friend and I can hear their voice in my head. Once I really know my characters and hear them, I hope that I can get this across in my writing.
