Goodreads asked Emilio Amaro:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Emilio Amaro I only write short stories, the longest story I've ever written is around 20,000 words so I've never written a book yet.

As for the idea of my last story, I was reading Private Parts, Howard Stern's bio and he said something about Joan Rivers whining over her husband dying and how she's so whiny and dramatic about it and that she was going to take either his head or the top of his corpse and throw it on top of the Christmas Tree, and that really made me laugh.

So that gave me an idea of writing a short story where a woman suffers a mental breakdown on Christmas Eve from her husband recently dying in a car accident and decides to break into a funeral home and put the top of his corpse on top of the Christmas Tree.
