Hallie asked Cornelia Funke:

What would be your advice for young writers who look up to you? (Like me :P)

Cornelia Funke find your very own path and voice!:) Write your first draft by hand. Be patient with your story. Make an A4 notebook for each idea you find tempting and start collecting material - images, notes, scribbles, research from books and the web. You'll be surprised how easily those books fill up. And even if you decide to never write that story you'll create something beautiful filled with your thoughts and ideas.
Or...forget about all this and do it your very own way!:))) just don't forget: stories like to hide and can only be tricked and lured out with passion, patience and the will to listen. And Stories want to be fed- with the reality of this world. For everything, absolutely everything you imagine comes from the world that surrounds you (though some things may be invisible:)
