People I know or meet, news items, day to day happenings - all inspire ideas that could make a great story, though I'm fascinated by psychopathy (I have a dedicated website). The malign influence of 'socialised psychopaths' is, I believe, one of the most important issues we face. Almost all the really big issues - yes, war, but also things like the financial crisis of 2008 and global warming - stem from the deficit in humanity exhibited by this 1-2% of the population.
