I grew up in the Wiregrass area. It's always shocking to me to find out that people know what the Wiregrass area is. And I'm absolutely floored that on your website there is a picture of a field with a Huey helicopter flying above it. I would love to know where you based your story. Or was it a mish-mash of several towns? I know Crystal River is a town up in NoAL. My friend grew up in Rainbow City.

Yes, the town was a composite of several small towns in South Alabama, as well as things from my imagination that were needed for the story. I really couldn't talk about the Wiregrass region and not talk about helicopters, especially since the story takes place in 1968. I hope you enjoyed reading it.
