Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Jennifer Lynn Alvarez My debut title is The Guardian Herd: STARFIRE. I got the idea for this book while I was driving my car down the freeway. I visualized a herd of flying horses migrating through the clouds above me. A heavily pregnant mare was flying in the rear, struggling to keep up, and none of the pegasi tried to help her. I knew instantly that her foal was special, but that he was also a threat to the herd. I became instantly obsessed with him and knew I had to write his story. As soon as I arrived home, I began writing STARFIRE, and I barely stopped to breathe until the first draft was finished. STARFIRE will be released on 09/23/14, and I can't wait for kids to read it!
