Why isn't the feds or state government helping the caregivers and especially if they are home taking care of their relatives?

Maria V. Ciletti Good question. There is some limited funds available through state Medicaid and VA programs. You have to apply for them and there are specific criteria that have to be met with both agencies. I think things may improve down the road as there becomes more awareness about what caregivers go through. There is a push right now for paid paternity leave for parents, there needs to be paid leave for caregivers as well. Hopefully this is where we are headed.
