I grew up visiting family near the town on which you reportedly based Manningsport. Your depiction feels so spot on to what I remember of the area. What inspired you to set a series in the Finger Lakes?

Kristan Higgins So glad to hear it! I wanted to set a series based around a vineyard, but not the glamorous, intimidating vineyard types that you might find in northern California, for example. The Finger Lakes were perfect: family run, small towns, beautiful landscape. And once I visited in person, just before I started writing THE BEST MAN, I fell totally in love.

I love that your stories always contain a mix of family members. What I mean is there are biological, half siblings, neighbor kids that stay in the picture and extended grandma, grandpa, etc. I am curious about your own background? ( I come from a very mixed background. We take in all strays ha!)
