G'day Kristan! As an Australian fan of your books, I love the way you portray your lead female characters, they are so unique, refreshing and real. What inspires the characters you create?

Kristan Higgins G'day, Meagan! I had the BEST time in Australia a few years ago! I try to make all my characters as real and layered--and honest--as I can. A lot of the time, I just stare at the computer screen and think, "Yeah, but what would she REALLY do?" or "How does she not know this already? She can't be that dumb!" And then I try to fix that.

Hi Kristan. Cambry-On-Hudson was the setting for If I Only Knew. Now it is also featured in On Second Thought. Is it patterned after an actual place? If so, what place(s) did you visit? BTW, I am not from the East Coast (at all). I was born and raised in the Midwest but now live in the SW. I love reading about town, places and settings out East that I can only imagine. Thanks!
