Ellie Lieberman
Ellie Lieberman asked Barbara Lieberman:

With your second book in the McEwen Family Series published, what are some of things we have to look forward to in To Reap A Whirlwind? And, what are some of things we have to look forward to in the next books? What were the challenges in writing a series like this?

Barbara Lieberman In To Reap a Whirlwind, you'll learn so much more about what makes Alex who he is. You will meet his mother and father, and others who shaped his life. You will also learn more about the history of the Arrowleaf Ranch and Broken Ridge, Wyoming.

The third book in the series will see Alex and Ellie's children growing up and facing a changing world as they enter the 20th century. The story is darker and more difficult to write, given what Native people and people of mixed heritage faced. The biggest challenge in this is to really step inside each of them (Jack, Grace, and Ian) and walk in their skins. To go where they go emotionally. I have to find ways to get there, given my lack of personal experience with such issues, to do them and the history justice.
