Marjan Baxter-mondt asked Django Wexler:

Dear Django Wexler, Where did you get the inspiration for the book the forbidden library from? P.S : can you please answer before or on this Wednesday because I have got to write about an author this week and I chose you because I really like your book. Sincerely Rebecca Baxter (1baxterr@isb.be) 10 years old grade 5 International School Of Brussels (ISB)

Django Wexler The original idea for The Forbidden Library came from thinking about mentors and teachers. The teacher character (someone like Dumbledore from Harry Potter, say) is always a good guy, and the main character can always trust them to do what's right in the end, even if the way they do it is kind of mysterious and weird, and they don't tell you everything right away. I want to write a story where the main character couldn't trust that guy, where you don't know if he's a good guy or not. Geryon teaches Alice, but whether he really wants to help her is still unknown!
