Deborah
Deborah asked Taylor Stevens:

Do the books need to be read in order written ? Does the reader need the background info to understand Monroe?

Taylor Stevens That's always such a tough one to answer because...it depends! Each Munroe installment is a standalone in terms of plot and, for that, I try to include just enough character backstory that a first time reader won't be completely lost but not so much that it annoys those who've been with the characters from the beginning. (It's a fine line, and sometimes I do it better than others.) But there's definitely a character arc that flows from book to book. Those who enjoy investing in and returning to characters they love are going to have a richer reading experience and will certainly understand Munroe better if they move through the series from front to back, but readers who are drawn to the series for the thrills and spills and who aren't necessarily inclined to read every book in a series anyway would be fine starting anywhere.
