Toral Shah asked Sarah MacLean:

In your book One Good Earl Deserves a Lover and The Rough not taken, you do leave some very sad woman. I guess I read romantic novels to see happy endings and not really the reality of life. So I do not appetite for ruined lives. I hope in future you write happy ending for Serafina and Lavinia. Just because they married bad men does not mean they cannot have happiness and love. Can you please write their story?

Sarah MacLean Hi Toral,
I think you'll be happy to hear that Seraphina gets her story on June 27th with The Day of the Duchess! She does deserve a happily ever after and she earns it.
As for Lavinia, I really struggled with her -- but she's strong and smart and the truth is that sometimes even strong and smart women end up in bad relationships. Her story did feel honest to me, though, and though I'd like to revisit her someday, the time, and the hero, would have to be right. Never say never!
Thank you for reading!
Take care, Sarah
