Thank you for opening our eyes to this other holocaust. In your research, did you travel to Trofimovsk, Lina´s final destination? For what is known, was a real diary or capusule ever found? During my research, I was not able to travel to Trofimovsk. I interviewed survivors who had been exiled there and also read the diary of Dalia Grinkeviciute who was sent to the Laptev Sea. I then built the novel based around their testimonies.
Yes, there were many diaries and buried capsules found! They are now in museums in Lithuania.

I was just wondering if you could tell me about your writing process. How do the ideas for your novels come to you? Do you outline first and then write? Do you write every single day or only when you feel inspired?
