What was your initial reaction upon finding out that you were going to be published?

I cried a lot. Because until that moment, I hadn't believed I would actually be published.
For years, I had truly believed it was only a matter of time, but right before I wrote Incarnate, I stopped believing. I'd been working so hard, writing so much, and it hadn't happened. So I stopped believing it would. Even when I got an agent. Even when she put me on the phone with editors who said they loved my book. Even when she said there would be an auction. I didn't believe until I saw the offers, and that's when I completely lost it.
