I just finished reading "Penric and the Shaman." Thank you. I enjoy both Pen and Des very much. I did notice something that interests me though. Nowhere in either Penric story or "Hallowed Hunt" Is Chalion mentioned (that I can find), although some other countries like Ibra and Darthica are. Is this because Chalion was too obscure back then, or did Chalion actually not exist that much earlier than Cazaril's time?
Lois McMaster Bujold
Chalion exists; it just didn't come up specifically in Penric. The Ibran language covers Chalion, Brajar, and Ibra all three, after all.
I believe it does come up in HH, as Ijada's Dad was from there. Or those parts. Been a while since I read it myself.

Hi there! I wish I could rant on about how much I love your work, but space is limited, so you'll have to trust me on that. I find myself enjoying your romances more than those in most fiction I read--definitely in part for the high-quality witty banter, but also because you write characters who really seem to complement each other. Is this based on your experience of romance? Some idealized version of love? Both?

In a past post years ago you mentioned that you listened to the music of Dave Carter and Tracy Grammar a lot while writing the Sharing Knife series. Because of your mention I now own all those albums - Big fan - Carter will be missed. Their "When I Go" album perfectly compliments the Sharing Knife series. Which begs the question....Is the Sharing Knife series the Ultimate FanFic for Carter & Grammer's music?

So, I'm a huge fan of your Vorkosigan series, and I can't wait for Gentleman Jole. That siad, one of the bits that intrigues me so much about the series are all the little asides and pieces of Barrayaran history. I know you've said your not interested in writing war stories, but would you ever consider writing something placed before or at the first contact with the galactic community after the Time of Isolation?
