I literally just finished My Man, Michael! Talk about a plot twist!!! What sparked you to add just a little bit of sci fi to the SBC series? Was there any kind of negativity from readers? I loved it BTW!!

Ha! Oh, Becky, I'm thrilled that you liked it, but yes-oh-yes there was negativity! I had readers threatening to beat me "to a bloody pulp" and worse. That book garnered so much hatred, it was scary!
Of course, there were also readers who were simply disappointed because they really wanted the group of fighters to stay together - and I get that. It was a huge error on my part. I underestimated how invested readers were in the group as a whole.
Why I wrote it that way... I don't know. That's just how the story presented itself to me. I had great fun writing it, but once it was done I realized I should have created a whole new character / series for that story. Hindsight! lol.
Also, there were readers like you who very much liked it - just not nearly as many who were disappointed. I really, really hate to disappoint my readers!
