Goodreads asked Sharon E. Rainey:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Sharon E. Rainey most of the time, the writer's block comes from not enough creative space or time in my day, so i try to create that period of time away from the phone and internet (and people) to allow the thoughts to flow. if the writing just isn't coming, i try to outline my thoughts so i can get the critical information recorded. i also allow what Anne Lamott refers to as the "shitty first draft." I write no matter how awful it is. somewhere in there will be some good nuggets! and if not, then i got all the terrible stuff out and thus allow the good stuff to come afterwards. it's repetition, practice and allowing the creativity to stir for a bit.
