Rachael Craw I'm wondering if you meant to say: How long does it take for you to write a novel now compared to when you started... I have only written 3 books so I'm not sure if I have much basis for comparison as yet. But Spark, as I have mentioned took 5 years because I was learning as I was going. 2 & 3 had no choice but to be 1 year projects as that is what I agreed to in my publishing contract and it was important to me and my publishers (and my readers) to keep the momentum going. So, creative process and contracts are a big factor in how long things take.
