Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Jacob Nordby Blessed Are the Weird happened several years ago when I was going through a rough patch. During that time, I allowed myself to really face how out of place I had always felt. I wrote this little verse, "Blessed are the weird people... Poets, misfits, writers, mystics, heretics, painters, and troubadours for they teach us to see the world through different eyes."
Later I shared it on Facebook and it just took off. It got shared millions of times and has popped up all over the place. People made their own versions. I realized that this was an idea that tied together a lot of what I had been trying to say for years. So I wrote the book. It took about six drafts and three years--way too long.
