What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Kate Rhodes Read widely in the genre you hope to write for. It helps to be intimately familiar with the market before you launch yourself into it. I'd also say, the books that get published are the ones that get written. So join a writing group, and write as often as you can. I think ninety percent of writing is about confidence and hard work. Most people can tell a good story. But it takes grit to keep at the chalk face day after day.
