Alwyn Hamilton:
Hi there, how long did it take to get a publisher that truly believed in your great writing?
Alwyn Hamilton
I got really lucky when I was on submission. My agent sent my book out on on a Friday, and we had our first offer by the next Thursday. After that, the other publishers who still had it were urged to read it by Deadline X, and we went from there. So I think the book was sold within a month of going on submission.
However, before that I'd edited it with my agent for 4 months and had gone through the process of querying agents. And the process of writing the book and editing myself. So it was more than 2 years between my starting the book and finding a publisher and more than 3 before it was published!

Hi Ms Hamilton! We met earlier this year at YALC. You signed Traitor and I saw Hero at the Fall's cover reveal. I was one of the Belgian visitors. I'm studying a semester in Italy now. This afternoon I went to one of the bookshops here - and found the Italian edition of Hero, just published! It took me quite some effort to NOT buy it, because I want all the English editions. Did you know they'd publish it so soon?

Hello! I'm still reading Rebel of the Sands, nearly done. I think you've created such an incredible setting for your story, with all the backstories and all. Now, here's my question: How do you write descriptions so clearly until readers can see it in their own minds? Would love it if you could help me out. All the best for your upcoming books! Sure your books will be a fandom soon!

Hi! I'm so sorry and I know that this sounds dorky and lame, but I absolutely LOVE the Rebels books.I anxiousy wait for any more sequals (*wink*). I have a few questions in the writing category. How long did the writing process, research and all, take for the first book? What step did you follow after plotting and research were completed?Did you use a set out plot line, or did the story lay out as you went? Thank you!!!
