Goodreads asked Meredith Jaeger:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Meredith Jaeger Never give up! Find a critique partner and hone your craft. The first novel you write (and maybe even the second and the third) may not get published. But learning how to write a query letter that garners positive responses, and the bravery of submitting to literary agents are both accomplishments to be proud of, even if you don't get signed. Write for the love of writing, because if you focus too much on the end goal of publication, writing can lose its joy. If you continue to write, submit, improve your skills and to believe in yourself, eventually you will write a book that readers connect with!
