do you get bombarded by characters before you write your books?

C.L. Lynch Yes! At least, I think so. I assume you're asking if the character comes into my head before writing. That is definitely the case, although usually just one or two main characters. The rest sort of populate the world as I write and often those characters are the ones I enjoy writing the most - like Stella's parents, who were not pre-conceived but are some of my favorite to write, and who also appear to be fan favorites as well.

I have some characters floating around my head who don't have a home yet, and I spend a lot of time trying to create a plot for them.

Stella was kind of a special case, as she's the only character I conceived with pen and paper. When I started to write her, she came to life and became so much more than her bullet point list.
