When you are busy writing do you notice a decline in your interest in reading? Or maybe in reading works similar to what you are writing? Perhaps this pertains more to fiction than non-fiction, but I've experienced seasons when a world is actively gestating inside my head and similar stories lose their appeal. Curious to know if others experience something similar. Thank you!

My brain seems to be a narrow bridge with only one lane. Input and output have to wait their turns on each other. When I'm writing, I have to reduce reading, or my mind is too full of other people's stuff to hear myself think.
The internet is especially bad for this, because there is no such thing as coming to the end and being able to close it, finished, and move on.

I've stopped hoping for another "Miles" book because I'm afraid you'd kill him. But in the meantime, I've fallen in love with Pen and Des - dare I hope for more? Also - can you cast Pen for my mind's eye? I can't find an actor who is blonde, pretty and looks younger than his years. Orlando Bloom as Legolas was VERY pretty, but don't think he could look young enough now. I guess they could go blonde wig again, but ...

Loois, do you keep track of loose ends you have left behind from each story as you go? (in a list or spreadsheet or some-such)., so that you can glance over the list at some point and say to yourself, "Oh yes, that fits in well with what I'm wondering about now". Or possibly simply have a sense for unfinished business with certain people or situations that may necessitate re-reading before writing further?

I Whole-heartily Love All Your Books. I've read (or listened) to all of them at least twice. Re-listening to the Sharing Knife series for the 4th time currently. Recently I re-read The Spirit Ring novel. Like all your works, it was wonderfully done. There were so many possibilities and hints for more. Please forgive me if you've already answered this, but why was there no Follow-up to The Spirit Ring?
