Kristan Higgins:
Hi Kristan! Your books have given me hours of reading and listening pleasure. In writing a continuing series, do you sometimes tire of the characters and setting? Also, what influenced you to write romance/women's fiction? Many thanks!
Kristan Higgins
My only series is Blue Heron, and it's only five books, so I didn't tire of the setting. In fact, it was very bittersweet to end the series, because I loved it, and yet felt deep in my bones that it was time to leave the good people of Manningsport. My books have always had that women's fiction aspect (family, past, issues)... I think it was more a question of packaging than "leaving" romance. I love romance. I'll never leave it. Never! (Well, of course, who knows? But for now, never!)

I fell in love with your writing style the first time I picked up one of your books. I was wondering though, what made you change the POV? From first person in Catch of the Day, to third person in Until There Was You, and now wholly different, in If You Only Knew and I reckon, On Second Thought.

First, thank you!! My friend introduced me to your books a few years ago and I've been a loyal follower ever since. Second, a book came out 19 days after I lost one of my best friends to a car accident. Your book gave me something to focus on and kept me sane for the moment. So thank you from the bottom of my heart. Third, would you like to be BFFs? ;) My friend and I will see you in Novato and we CANNOT WAIT!

Hi Kristan, I haven't read AFU as I am trying my best to not devour your books one after the other. I recently discovered them, and you absolutely stole my heart with JOOTG. Every story has been amazing. I love your real, quirky, flawed, lovable heroines and your hot heroes. I laugh out loud, read passages to anyone who will listen, and wipe away tears. Thank you for writing! Do you start with characters or plot?
