Hi Kristan, I haven't read AFU as I am trying my best to not devour your books one after the other. I recently discovered them, and you absolutely stole my heart with JOOTG. Every story has been amazing. I love your real, quirky, flawed, lovable heroines and your hot heroes. I laugh out loud, read passages to anyone who will listen, and wipe away tears. Thank you for writing! Do you start with characters or plot?

Usually characters. Or plot! Or both... if I come up with the plot first, I try to find the character least suited to solving the problem (Too Good To Be True, for example). The plot was a woman makes up a boyfriend when her sister starts dating her ex-fiance. I had to give Grace very good reasons for doing that, and sitting quietly by, in order for the plot to work, so I made sure she adored Natalie and had a bit of a history with imaginary boyfriends. : )

Hi Kristan. Cambry-On-Hudson was the setting for If I Only Knew. Now it is also featured in On Second Thought. Is it patterned after an actual place? If so, what place(s) did you visit? BTW, I am not from the East Coast (at all). I was born and raised in the Midwest but now live in the SW. I love reading about town, places and settings out East that I can only imagine. Thanks!
