My favourite fictional couple is Guido and Paulo Brunetti from Donna Leon's fab series. Guido is a Commissario with the Venice police and Paulo is an academic and the daughter of a wealthy Venetian aristocrat. Their relationship is real and vibrant and refreshingly honest. They know each other's flaws, but still love each other deeply.
