They certainly aren't bad reads. The only way to be sure if you'll like them is to try.

Nothing really beats IAD imo, but LOTU is great and I'm sure you would like it too. :)

I think if you like Kresley Cole, you will enjoy Gena Showalter. Gena Showalter has her own vibe to her books, but they share a love of humor, sexy heroes, and hot love scenes. I think Showalter also has a great imagination like Cole.

I like IAD a lot more but if you enjoy reading IAD series then you'll enjoy LOTU as well.
I don't know about GS's other series. I read book 1 of the Alien Huntress and didn't care for it. I read her Atlantis series and like it but wasn't at the same level as her LOTU.

They do have different styles but I like the books I've read by Gena.

I started reading both around the same time, and I think they have a different voice although a similar vibe. I'm glad they both write because there are more excellent books for me to read. And I'm glad they are buds. I like to think my favorite writers get along. :)

And if it did happen, collaboration between KC and GS, I'm praying so hard that it will be Nix and Torin!
I agree with you about The Darkest Night, Arianne. It's definitely weaker compared to the other books.

I hope you get back to it one day. I think the series is great, even if the first book isn't as good, Missy.

Hope you try it again sometime.

Ditto! I really enjoyed reading the Darkest Whisper. Also, as I read along I anticipated to read more about William.

I read the entire IAD series not stopping! The LOTU books I read them with an slowly pace.

@Grace - I'm also working my way through IAD. I don't tend to read books in a series one after the other because I get totally burned out on them and lose interest. I usually space them out one a month unless there is a cliffhanger and I just have to know what happens next but that is rare.

I like them both, although I like KC more. I think Gena Showalter is actually more prolific than KC, so that might have something to do with the hit or miss nature of her writing for fans.

But I read books from KC's 2 other series, besides IAD, and thought they were all great. With some of GS's series, after book 1 I don't want to go on (specifically the Alien Huntress series). So I'm calling KC the better of the two. At least for me. But again GS is great too.
