Susan | 6406 comments I choose that. Yeeeee-uck.

message 2: by Riona (new)

Riona (rionafaith) | 488 comments Scrapple is delicious.

message 3: by smetchie (new)

smetchie | 4034 comments Those circus peanut marshmallow things?

message 4: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments Scrapple sounds both potentially delicious (if spam is good, scrapple must be even better) and awful.

message 5: by smetchie (new)

smetchie | 4034 comments I think I've had scrapple. It wasn't in PA but it was on the Jersey shore, where lots of Pennsylvanians vacation. They serve it with breakfast and it's pretty tasty. Then again, I like liverwurst and butterkase.

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

Circus peanuts

Marshmallow chicks

Malted milk balls

Black licorice

McDonald's McRib sandwich

message 7: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11837 comments Chili cheese fries ARE disgusting, as is any type of deep fried foodstuff on a stick. I also nominate poutine. Ick.

message 8: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Yeah. Add all of Mr. D's list to mine.

message 9: by Susan (last edited Jan 18, 2013 11:57AM) (new)

Susan | 6406 comments I had to look up poutine. That sounds like it should go on the disgusting word thread.

Gravy fries are a favorite dish (not mine) to get from coney island restaurants up north.

Probably the marzipan vagina.

Pics?

message 13: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments How do you even know about that?!

So, you eat it?

message 14: by Susan (last edited Jan 18, 2013 08:34PM) (new)

Susan | 6406 comments A rare shell fish: It looks like (view spoiler).

I sit on the Obscene Marzipan Committee of the International Council of Culinary Inventions.

message 16: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24778 comments Mod
And incidentally you may not want to google Marzipan Caesarean.

message 17: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Such a thing cannot possibly exist!

message 18: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24778 comments Mod
Like I said, you may not want to investigate further.

message 19: by Susan (last edited Jan 18, 2013 08:55PM) (new)

Susan | 6406 comments I had a Caesarean. One was enough.

message 20: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24778 comments Mod
Oh yes. We had a discussion about those in another thread.

message 21: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Barb wrote: "More poutine for me!!! ... and Bun."

And Jammies! :D

I nominate Peeps and pork rinds as the worst junk food ever.

message 22: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24778 comments Mod
I have never eaten either of those.

message 23: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments I am proud of you, LG.

message 24: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24778 comments Mod
Not out of any sense of scruples, of course.

message 25: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Of course. I can still be proud, nonetheless.

message 26: by Riona (new)

Riona (rionafaith) | 488 comments I love both peeps and pork rinds.

message 27: by Arminius (new)

Arminius I like Peeps too. And scrapple is popular but I don't like it.

I find tea the disgusting drink. The smell of it makes me nauseas.

Clearly, these new chips:

I've eaten chicken flavored crackers before, and they're vile.

message 30: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Were they Chicken in a Biscuit? Those are the only chicken flavored crackers I remember ever trying when I was young.

message 31: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24778 comments Mod
I don't remember. It was a few years ago.

message 32: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Barb wrote: "What sane person would put chicken and waffles together?!"

It's quite popular in the southern United States.

message 33: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Gladys Knight's restaurant in ATL is known for a waffle and chicken dish.

message 34: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments Chicken and waffles does not sound appetizing at all. Patatje joppie on the other hand, is pretty delicious.

Spicy reggae chicken was this year's winner.

message 35: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Great fried chicken is amazing. A nice fluffy waffle is delicious. It's not like they are blended together, just next to each other on the plate, at least in Atlanta.

message 36: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Janine's chip bags have better flair than the US chip bags.

message 37: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24778 comments Mod
It's not like meat and sweet don't belong together; a stack of pancakes with maple syrup, and either link or patty sausage on the side, is an ass kickin breakfast. But there's just something about fried chicken....that doesn't seem to go that well. With a waffle.

message 38: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24778 comments Mod
Also it might be delicious on the plate, but it does not belong in a CHIP. What a desecration. It's like, would you buy chicken and waffle flavored salad dressing? No, you wouldn't. If you had all your faculties.

message 39: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments I hardly have all my faculties but I would not buy a chicken and waffle flavored dressing.

message 40: by Riona (new)

Riona (rionafaith) | 488 comments Chicken and waffles are amazing. There's a restaurant in midtown that I love that makes awesome chicken and waffles with tabasco maple syrup. I need to find these chips and try them.

I'm intrigued by the Sriracha flavor too. I think these need to be in my life.

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

I put this down to the weird confusion Americans have between desserts and mains.

Better to leave you to it.

*Grumbles* Just because they both taste great, doesn't mean they would make an amazing combo.

OMG. Yum. Tabasco and maple sounds like a combination from heaven. Next time I'm visiting my brother in Brooklyn, we'll go eat chicken and waffles, Riona. I think we'd have fun.

message 43: by Youndyc (new)

Youndyc | 1255 comments Fried mac n cheese balls. Literally, balls of mac n cheese, breaded, then fried. I don't understand thinking that would be a tasty idea.

message 44: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Youndyc wrote: "Fried mac n cheese balls. Literally, balls of mac n cheese, breaded, then fried. I don't understand thinking that would be a tasty idea."

They sounds similar to fried risotto balls. They are usually dusted in Panko and fried and they are divine. I ate them in Italy. Pretty much everything I ate there was drool-inducing. Plus most of the waiters were easy on the eyes. Sigh.

message 45: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Risotto balls are good. Risotto balls in Italy, I cannot even imagine.

message 46: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Never had scotch eggs but our local Chip Shop makes them.

Yes! The place with the tabasco maple chicken and waffles also has frozen cosmopolitans. It's my favorite happy hour place in Hell's Kitchen.

message 48: by Riona (new)

Riona (rionafaith) | 488 comments I've always wanted to try scotch eggs but never have.

Other weird-sounding but delicious junk food? Fried pickles. Preferably when they come with some spicy dipping sauce.

message 49: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24778 comments Mod
I'd definitely eat risotto balls before mac and cheese balls.

message 50: by [deleted user] (new)

I haven't had them. They look delicious.
