VAMPIRES DON'T SPARKLE discussion

I been looking all over for this movie. I dont know if its even out yet or not (NO ITS NOT LET THE RIGHT ONE IN.)

all I know is there's these/this Vampire/s that in order to feed they don't sprout fangs but instead a single claw grows from a finger tip and that's how they draw blood. I think its a young girl just past her teens and thats all I know.

Its called Byzantine (sp) I found it on another G.Reads thread, its coming out this summer to theaters.

OOOH...that one. Yeah, I saw that on vampires.com. It's directed by Niel Jordan, the same guy who did Interview with the Vampire. So you found it?

yeah, I found it on gothic.net. An I absolutely Niel Jordans work on IwtV... too bad he didnt do its horrible sequel

Oh yeah, Queen of the Damned?? You know that movie pissed Anne Rice off?

It sounds like The Strain, by Guillermo del Toro, but as far as I know it wasn't made into a movie. IMDB shows a short film that sounds like it made in 2007. There is a TV movie coming this year but no description or trailer yet so I am not even sure it is the same thing. Hope that helps, or at least rules out something you were considering.

Update to that, I just checked and Guillermo Del Torro is actually the producer and Director of the Strain coming to TV this year so I am betting that is like the book.

Kind of wonder how they are going to make that for TV, It seemed like it would need an R rating.

Perhaps they'll put it on HBO.

Chris I take it you've read The Strain. Any good?

It is ok, it had a really good plot line but it was kind of slow and I found my mind wandering. It wasn't good enough to make me keep reading the trilogy. If you give it a shot I hope you enjoy it more. I am curious to see how the movie is. Like I said it was a good idea for a story.

Yeah, I saw a video about it where Guillermo del toro was saying that he wanted to "save the vampire" with that book because he didn't like what Twilight had done to them. I read a little bit about what happens in The Strain and his vampires sound a little too wierd for me. They sound more like bloodsucking aliens. LOL. Well I know he is a good director so maybe I'll read it.
