When you are in the comment box, click "add book/author", you will get a pop up box with a search field, type the title in the search box ie "helter skelter" then click 'add' next to the correct book. For the author, click the tab author at the top of the pop up window.

OK, I'll try to remember that.

What do you think of that one so far?

What do you think of that one so far?
It is rather detailed and informative, the author explains the reasoning behind some of his conclusions, but, I am having a hard time getting into it. I keep reading other books, I don't know if I am reading other things because I can't get into the book, or can't get into the book because I keep reading other books.
I think I'll set it aside and get back to it later.

What did I read (true crime wise) in 2016.
Okay I finished reading

Eileen or anybody else who have read it. Is it a good book? (please no spoilers) . I have read just one book by him and I thought it boring. 3 stars. Darker than night.

Funny you should ask -- I am right in the middle of it now. It's a local story for me and I was afraid I might have heard it all before, between the news reports and the fact that I already read another book on the case, A Slaying in the Suburbs: The Tara Grant Murder. That book did nothing much for me but this one is really excellent. It perfectly captures the way we all felt watching this story develop in the news, AND it gives you the background story from the police-investigation point of view. I can highly recommend this one.

Hi, I must re-read Cauffiel's MASQUERADE again too. It has been a long time and I forget alot.

Serial Killer Groupies by R.J. Parker: 3 stars Disappointed. I didn't find it very well written and not a lot I didn't know already.
The Dark Strangler: Serial Killer Earle Leonard Nelson by Michael Newton: 4.5 stars. This is another in a series of books called "Crimes Canada: True Crimes That Shocked the Nation". They have all been very good so far. Short but packed with information.
Camouflaged Killer: The Shocking Double Life of Canadian Air Force Colonel Russell Williams by David A. Gibb: 5+ stars If you read one book on Russell Williams, make it this one.

Hi Marlene! We meet again. Wonderful to see you here.

Just finished Whoever Fights Monsters: My Twenty Years Tracking Serial Killers for the FBI.
Thinking I might read Vampire: The Richard Chase Murders next because Ressler mentioned him a few times in his book.

I thought it was well done, and appreciated the emphasis placed on the friends, family, and acquaintances of the victim and how the crime affected them for years and years to come. This was a horrendously brutal crime, and although the eventual resolution is not a surprise, the conviction was obtained using strictly forensic evidence 30 years later, which was kind of a surprise.

I got the Murder in Pleasanton one for Kindle for $6.99. I don't usually pay more than $5 for an ebook but decided to make an exception because I haven't been reading much lately. Perhaps it'll come down in the future.

Fighting the Devil: A True Story of Consuming Passion, Deadly Poison, and Murder
