If I had to focus on another area of literature, it would be South American writers. How about a nice Amazon jungle surrounding while reading Borges, Allende and Fuentes?

I think perhaps if I'm EVER going to read Proust, perhaps I can do it in Paris with mid-morning patisserie breaks. :D

I'm in for Proust in Paris, or any other French writer in Paris.

It made me think of several bookprinting/bookbinding/bookarts classes I see advertised every year. These are definitely out there, Thomas, and you should splurge and give yourself a chance!

And the South American course - could we ask Juan Gabriel Vasquez to teach it? (*that voice*)... Milan Kundera as guest lecturer.
Then over to Hawaii where Obama will take us through Marilynne Robinson's 'Housekeeping' and 'Gilead'.
Could we create a safe haven in Russia for Masha Gessen, Pussy Riot and Gary Kasparov to teach the Russian classics and chess?
Finally to an English country house/inn for Wilkie Collins & co. 👌
Thank you for organising this Thomas and Simon!

I regret EVERY MINUTE I wasted in college on my music degree when I could have been reading! Gah.
I want world literature classes from every region. I'll start with Germany because people keep rattling off names like Thomas Mann and others I have never read.....
