VAMPIRES DON'T SPARKLE discussion

It's been made a big deal of, mostly by people who hate Twilight, that it's stupid that Edward Cullen decides to drive a Volvo. Or at least it seems like that is the case, I haven't read about anyone talking about it lately.

Stephenie Meyer has stated that she loves alternative music, she said in an interview that she listens to Linkin Park while she writes. Now this is just a theory.


Kurt Cobain drove a Volvo.



But that was something that his friends made fun of him for. They said the reason he bought a Volvo was because someone told him it was the safest car to drive, and that he drove like an old lady but would take the thing to Heroin dealers' houses and shoot up.

Now I'm definitely not ripping on Meyer for her choice in music (actually, that's probably the only thing her and I could see eye to eye on if we ever met), but Edward and Kurt both driving Volvos...I think that is deliberately supposed to be an homage to Kurt Cobain.

If this is true she obviously doesn't think this, but Edward Cullen is definitely not nearly as cool as Kurt Cobain was. True, he had some serious issues, but I like him, I've been a big Nirvana fan since I was a kid, and I feel that doing that is disrespecting his memory.

LOL...maybe I'm making too much of a big deal out of this one, but that connection is way too obvious.
